FLW Outdoors has announced it will bring the $2 million Forrest Wood
Cup, presented by Castrol, to Lake Murray in August 2008, giving the Capital
City/Lake Murray Country region the largest bass-fishing championship in the
nation next year.
The event is expected to draw thousands of bass fishing fans to the
region and provide a significant boost to the
state’s economy. FLW
officials predict that the event will have an economic impact of approximat=
ely
$40 million on the midland’s region.

and

The Forrest Wood Cup will be held August 14-17, 2008, on Lake Murray
and features a $1 million first-place prize — $500,000 cash, plus a

The Capital City/Lake Murray Country regional tourism office will
announce additional upcoming events at its Annual Meeting to be held, August
23, 2007, at 4pm at the Hilton Garden Inn on Columbiana Drive. The regional tourism office has an
